Best Factoring Companies for New Authority: What to Compare (2026)
We are an independent directory. Prices and terms below come from each vendor’s own website on the date shown, and they change often, so confirm before you sign. Some outbound links are affiliate links and are always labeled; they never change what we include or how we order it. Disclosure.
Short answer
- New authorities can factor from the first load. The factor checks your brokers’ credit, not yours.
- In your first year, flexibility beats a slightly lower rate: no long contract, no monthly minimum, no forced “factor everything.”
- Get the full fee schedule in writing and compare at least two quotes.
Factoring companies that say they work with new authorities
| Company | Contract (as published) | Recourse | Funding speed (as published) | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bobtail | Month-to-month, 30 days’ notice; cancel free in first 90 days | Recourse | Same day before 11 a.m. ET, else next day | No reserve; flat rate max 3.24% (1-3 trucks); fleet card |
| OTR Solutions | Factoring agreement; terms vary by program | “True non-recourse” | Instant, 24/7/365 | Apply before authority is active; no credit check; fuel card |
| Outgo | No annual contracts; no sign-up or cancellation fees | Ask (says it protects against brokers going out of business) | Within 4 hours | DAT-owned; 1.0% rate on Outgo Card purchases |
| CFX Solutions | Ask | Ask | Same day; 24/7 instant payouts via CFX Pay | Up to 98% advance; $1,500 fuel credit line per truck; free dispatch/TMS |
| Apex Capital | Ask | Both options | Same or next day; 24/7 for qualifying clients | Free fuel card; free broker credit checks; free NextLOAD board |
From each company’s own website, checked October 31, 2026. “Ask” means the company doesn’t publish it. Ordered by how much the company publishes about its terms, not by quality. We have an affiliate relationship with CFX Solutions (labeled below); it doesn’t affect the order.
Red flags in a first factoring contract
- Long terms with auto-renewal and a short cancellation window.
- Monthly minimums you might not hit in a slow month.
- “All invoices” clauses that stop you billing a fast-paying shipper directly.
- Vague termination: no clear date for releasing the UCC lien and notices of assignment.
- Fees not in the quote: per-invoice, wire, fuel advance, “service” or credit-check fees.
When to line it up
Apply while your authority is pending (some factors allow it), so you can factor the first load. Many new carriers set up factoring, insurance, an ELD and a load board in the same few weeks. Our startup checklist puts them in order. Learn the mechanics in how freight factoring works, or browse every factoring company.
